About the event

All welcome to join a relaxed afternoon of creating signs, stencils and posters.  We're preparing for a beautiful rebellion.  Book now, numbers limited to provide for social distancing.

XR's Paint the Streets project is using art to TELL THE TRUTH and spread messages of hope. If you have a good knife to cut a stencil eg stanley knife, please bring it.  We have access to a large space in Mitchell, so we can spread out.

Come and cut out your own stencil to take away and paint the streets with chalk paint with XR logo and messages.  Or create posters to do paste ups.  Help create beautiful corflute signs to convey our messages at upcoming street protests.

Artivism workshops are planned for the second Sunday of each month.

The Extinction Symbol was designed in 2011 by street artist ESP, who loans XR usage on the same basis:

Extinction Rebellion ACT acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which Canberra is situated, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people. We wish to recognise and respect their continuing connection to the land and water, and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region. Their sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We would also like to acknowledge other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who may visit this area.
